1 on 1/11/11

Luke turned 1, on 1/11/11.

Pretty neat, if I do say so myself.

Today, Layton said, "Mommy, Luke is too little to have a birthday."

My feelings exactly. How is he big enough to be one year old? sigh.

His eyes....oh, my....I get lost in them:)

1st CUPCAKE, on his 1st birthday

Layton helped blow out the candle, and then it was time to dig in!

"Ah, excuse me, Luke....the wrapper is not edible. Sorry!"

This face says it all!

And just for the record....Layton wouldn't touch his first cake. I had to make him taste it!!

What does this say about how different they are and will be?

Makes me a tad nervous.

Then to finish our day.....I made his favorite dinner, spaghetti and then he had another cupcake.
You know, since it's his birthday and all!

One happy boy. One sugar high.

This picture was taken at exactly 6:06 pm, the minute he was born, one year ago.

(And yes, I have 3 pictures of Layton at 11:32 am on his exact birth minute too!)

And then..............

he needed a birthday BATH!

We plan to party just has hard on Saturday for his official birthday bash!

I Couldn't Help Myself

I found the cutest reindeer antlers (with a fuzzy Santa hat). I couldn't wait for Luke to wear them.

It was so stinkin' cute.

And....

speaking of cute, I also found this adorable diaper cover too......

I just couldn't help myself.

Nat and Cindy came over with their boys for dinner.

I made a really yummy chicken noodle soup, it was a hit with Nathaniel:) And that's all that really matters.

It was a low key night (aren't those the best?) The boys played WII, and the girls chatted and surfed adoption blogs (the boys totally don't understand why we care about people we've never met!) But we enjoyed it, and "oohhh" and "awwwed" over all the sweet babies and toddlers...all the while, talking about how much fun it will be when Miss Ella comes home.
