Lately, I have caught them both asleep on the couch right before bedtime. It's not a good habit to get into, but I can't help but smile and look past what Babywise might say!

Hands, lips and sweetness....oh my!

Luke has discovered his hands.

He is grabbing things...his pacifier, little rattles, my hair. And the kid has a grip, for sure!

He favorite is his pacifier.

He takes it out of his mouth and looks at it like, "ok, what is that and how do I get it back in?"

He has also started to suck in his bottom lip - WHICH I LOVE!

This is such a cute face!

I remember Layton doing this and I would just melt! Soooo adorable. However, it was also about the time Layton started teething. Tell me it isn't so?! It's too soon to start teething, right?! But it is way cute all the same!

Boys and Chairs

I won't lie, I love Pottery Barn and...

I love Pottery Barn Kids even more.

There, I confess.

But, by far, my favorite purchase is the Anywhere Chair. It's comfy, easy to move around the house and it just the right size for little ones. Luke inherited Layton's first chair, with a new monogrammed slipcover, of course. And Layton moved up a size to fit his very long legs!!

Checking out Big Brother, I wonder what he is thinking!

Hopscotch

We went to Hopscotch today to have a playdate with several of our friends. It was raining and overcast, so it was the perfect solution to get some much needed energy out!! :)

Jackson and Luke met us there and Layton was so happy to see them.

I think they felt the same way!

Then we also got to see my good friend Missy and her adorable niece, Whitney.




Whitney and Layton were shy around each other at first, but it didn't last long. Before we knew it, they were jumping, laughing and having a great time.

Watching him explore and learn is fascinating...amazing what happens in such a short time.

Mady's Baby Dedication

Miss Mady's Baby Dedication was Sunday. The entire family gathered for the big event. After much debate of whether to go the night before, we finally decided to drive up on Sunday and meet them at church. It was a hectic morning to get showers, everyone dressed, including a two year old that insists he have an input on his wardrobe :) So, with two outfit changes, we were out the door and on the road. We made it with an hour to spare!

During the service, Mady was joined with other little ones that had been born in the last six months. They all were so sweet up on stage...and no one cried! Amazing!

We quickly darted across town and enjoyed a delicious meal at the Spaghetti Factory and then went to Bryan and Danielle's to relax for the afternoon. It was beautiful outside!!

The familyWhile we were relaxing, we just had to get pictures of the baby cousins, while Layton napped. They were so cute together! Can't wait to see how their relationship grows and changes over the years.

My two monkeys

Layton was watching Curious George today in "his" chair.
I decided to sit Luke beside Layton for a few minutes to see what he would do.

I think he liked it!
And his cute little monkey outfit was appropriate for his first viewing of George too!

Speaking of monkeys...

The other day, I said, "Layton, your Mommy's little monkey!"

He immediately answered, "I not actually a monkey."

Holding back a smile, I said, "Oh, your not...so, are you Mommy's little boy?"

He bluntly replied, "No, I'm not, I big man!"

Good to know, Good to know. I was left laughing hysterically.
