So this time around, Luke is more "little" to me than Layton was, and I'm soaking it in. Wierd, huh? I know that it's typical to grow-up your first child more quickly, but I didn't realize how true it really is. Sometimes, I look up and still think that Layton should be 18 months old. And then it dawns on me that we are approaching FOUR years old. Seriously? How did that happen and where does the time go? And why have I become like an old person constantly referencing time as "going by too fast?"
Help, I turning into a real adult. Yikes! *ha!*
Or I may just be turning into a real sentimental schmuck.
Either way. Here is my first babe at the tender age of 18 months.
No matter how close to F.O.U.R we get...
he'll still be a baby in his Momma's eyes.

Thats what I still tell my n*i*n*e year old, that he's still my baby, my first baby and always will be no matter how old he gets! Thank God he humors me and lets me love on him in those moments!
I understand this exactly! Gretchen seems so little to me still! I have a friend who has a daughter 1 month older than Gretchen, but she is her first. She is doing so many things that Gretchen is not! But I honestly don't care. I like her still seeming little.
My parents still look at me and think of me as their baby, and hello I'm 36. Once we give birth they are ALWAYS a baby to us. Pierce is approaching 7 and I could just die ;) Okay, maybe a little dramatic, but you understand. I also have treated Hope much more as a 'baby' and not been in such a hurry for her to grow up, like I did with the first. Like I've said before, someone sooooo needs to invent a time machine, because I would buy it. :) Sorry to rant away here. Just feeling sappy about these babies of ours growing up way too fast.
