family + friends + crabs = best combo!

The advantage to going to the beach around fall break is.....

everyone was there too!

We hooked up with some of our very best friends and had a FRIEND beach day!

Jake, Grey, Layton, Miles & Max played football

while the Daddy's taking care of the littles, so the girls sat and soaked up the sun!

And then before I knew it, there was something said.....

and all the boys started running....chasing....

and a slam DUNK was in order!!!!

Besides hanging at the beach, the next BEST thing was CRAB HUNTING!

While we waited for it to get dark, we ate pizza by the beach and watched the most amazing sunset ever!!!

I had never crab hunting before, so it was exciting for me too!

Beth is so great, she went to the store and got everything we would need: nets, flashlights for all the kids, glow in the dark necklaces/bracelets, and even glow in the dark beach balls.

Yes, she thought of everything.

But she didn't count on us having this much fun!

Before the hunt began, we lit a lantern and watched it float high over the ocean....

Then it was time to get our CRAB on :)

Glow sticks - check
Nets - check
Flashlights - check

EXCITED KIDDOS (and mommy!) - check, check!!!!

The girls...

The crew....on the hunt...

"Where are those crabs??  I get 'em!!"  says Luke

and then....Brian yelled, jumped and screamed.......THEY FOUND the very FIRST ONE!

Crab # 1 - CAUGHT!

Almost all the boys caught one, including Layton, which he was so proud of!

Christina and I just kept saying how this was such a FUN memory for all of the kids.

The boys have talked about it non-stop!

Layton : "Hey, did you know I went crab hunting, and I actually CAUGHT a crab!"

Luke: "We got those crabs, in the net!  Like this!" (as he precedes to act out how he caught an imaginary crab!

I love all of these people!  I am so glad that we were able to share a vacation experience with our boys!

We decided that this must be a yearly event.
I couldn't agree more:))
