now, I see. John 9:25
I see people around me like never before.
I see needs that I may have overlooked in the past.
I see the desire in the hearts of so many sweet souls.
I see.
I see an impoverished apartment complex across town, bursting at the seems with families from
other countries.
I see a outreach ministry spreading giant blankets down on a dew stained ground, knocking on doors, and conducting a little outdoor classroom.
I see Bible stories being read, songs being sung, games being played and crafts being constructed.
I see coloring sheets and stickers bringing the biggest smiles to the tiniest of faces.
I see a willingness to listen, to learn and to love, which made my heart grow a little bit also.
As I glanced into their beautiful eyes that look so much different than mine, I was reminded of the gift I received not so long ago in a far away country...a gift that I do not take for granted anymore. It's universal and it's necessary and it's our responsibility to show everyone God's love, to share what He has done for us.
No matter what language we speak or how much money is in our bank account, we are all His children.
and now...
I see the children of the world.
And I see sweet faces reminding me of that simple fact.
Because I see images of Him.
Thank you, Lord, for opening my eyes to the world around me.
"...once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act."
Proverbs 24:12
