Once we slowly woke them, Blake and I discussed the importance of the day, the fact that our Savior was born! We sang "Happy Birthday" to baby Jesus, and prayed before ever opening the bedroom door.
Then.....the door opened......
Layton was almost in shock!
but quickly dove into his surprises!

Layton asked for a remote control rocket. Well, those are even available unless you are 16 and older! So a rocket ship was the next best thing:) They loved it!
along with a new pair of shoes.....
and a Luke loved his tool set, but the Veggie Tales Noah's Ark was his favorite:)
and then they took a peek in their stockings.....
We took lots of video, but not as many pictures. Blake and I enjoyed our first Christmas morning at HOME in 9 years (our entire married life!) We have always been at either his parents or my parents. But with two kids, it became too much to pack suitcases, bring presents, and toys. We all stayed in our pj's, played with toys, worked puzzles and cooked breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in our home....with our sweet boys:)

Great pictures, Brittany! Looks like a perfect day!! We started staying home for Christmas a few years ago, too. It's just so much easier. Luckily, *most* of our family understands that. :)
what a sweet memory!! love their expressions!
I'm so glad that you had the chance to be at home on Christmas. The pic of the boys when the door first opened is so cute!! I already miss Christmas!
So very happy that you finally got to have Christmas morning at your house...looks like the first one was worth the wait:)
