Odette

As many of you know, I grew up with two little brothers, and now I have two (oh-so-cute) sweet sons.

As many of you also know, I'm also totally a girlie girl.
I love curling hair, big bows, cute clothes, jewelry, and shoes.

Ironic, huh?

However,  the Lord has taught me that even though there is not another woman by birth who is my sister, or a little girl by birth that is my daughter......

I have many sisters.

How do I know?

Sisters laugh together.

Sisters pray together.  Sisters cry together.

Sisters sing together.  Sisters love unconditionally.

Throughout my life, I have had many sisters.
Even if they aren't by blood or birth.

I found another long lost sister on the opposite side of the world.

Sweet Odette

After the first day of ministry in Africa, she and I just clicked immediately.
We were laughing, singing, playing with each others hair, giving fashion tips, talking about life, and sharing the gospel.

Doesn't get much better than that?

As the week progressed, we spent days together in the villages.
I watched Odette light up around children, and help the team navigate the unknowns of life in Africa.

  She was my rock.

I know this may sound strange.....since we only spent one week together.
But if you have ever been on a trip like this, the bonding is high and lifelong friendship form quickly.

I found a sister on the other side of the world.

Odette lives in West Africa, and I live in America.  But she is mine and I am hers.

And tonight, as I sit here, I miss her voice.
I miss her smile.
 I miss her.

I have a feeling she's missing me too.

Can't wait to be reunited with my sister in Christ and my sister in heart.

Praying for my beautiful, Odette.

Love you, sister.
