Our Sweet Emaline
("Ema - LINE", said like Caroline)
meaning: peaceful and whole
So, where did her name come from?
Look closely, you will see our sweet Emaline is being named after her great great great grandmother,
Emaline Addington Curtis
These pictures are a detailed family tree recorded in Kendall Ross' (Blake's grandfather) handwriting before he passed away in 2007.
He had no idea that 7 years later, a new sweet Emaline would join his family.
Emaline was the wife of James, and the mother of 8.
and......
the Great Great Great Grandmother of her namesake, our sweet Emaline.
Priceless pictures that will be cherished for always, especially since Kendall wrote them himself. We will use them to tell the story of a man who led his family well, loved the Lord first and foremost, and who had a beautiful influence on our lives...eventually leading us to her.
Emaline means "peaceful and whole". The meaning, alone, is such a sweet reminder to Blake and I after struggling for so long to take this leap of faith. The Lord is even using her name to give us comfort. The long road of adoption many times seems unending and weary. He is providing peace.
Peace that He even used a woman who lived in the 1800's to bring glory to Himself in 2014.
Peace in our hearts that Emaline is ours and always has been, in His time, in His way and by His hand.
Peace that through this process we will see a glimpse of His heartbeat through her name, her face and her life.
Peace that our Sweet Emaline is coming soon......
