Luke {5 months}

Luke,

Sweet boy, you are my growing little angel. I can't believe that we are approaching the 1/2 year mark...how can it be? The beautiful summer sun warms my heart as I think about how you have blossomed over the past few months. You are our gift from the Lord and we are grateful everyday that you are a part of our family. Truthfully, it feels like you have been since the beginning.

A little about you at this age:

You(r)...

are very laid back and smile all the time. Seriously, you are so SMILEY! That is what I hear constantly. Your little face lights up and you instantly tell everyone how sweet natured you are.

weighed 18.3 lbs (2 weeks ago), so you probably have gained about another 1/2 lb since :) You are definitely healthy and happy!!

are still exclusively nursing and haven't started cereal or food. We are trying to hold off until 6 months before introducing solids. Hang in there, little buddy!! ;) You nurse every 3 hours and still wake up once at night. (that's OK, secretly Mommy loves spending time with just you in the quiet of the night).

wear size 3 diapers and size 9 month or 9 -12 month clothes!

take 3 naps a day. A morning nap, a LONG afternoon nap, and then a cat nap in the evening. You "hum" when you are tired, it's your cue that you need sleep!  ;) You "hmmmmmm" when  you get tired, it's your cue that you need sleep!

you love taking baths, but are just about to outgrow your baby bath tub!

love holding on to Mommy's finger, or shirt while nursing. And you hike your little foot up on Mommy's arm. It's sweet & I wish you would hold on forever.

newest trick is that you love to stretch your legs and stand up someone's lap.

you are able to grab any object, and manipulate it...especially your paci.  

found your reflection in the mirror and smiled so big!

are beginning to like your exercauser, but get tired easily.

still drool a lot, but it has slowed somewhat this past month. I don't think you are teething a badly as before. :) BUT you still love your fingers and fist to suck/chew on!!

went swimming a lot this month, you love the water...but you love taking naps by the pool more! ;)

laugh when tickled - loudly! It is so cute!

have not only have your found your feet, you love sucking on your toes!!



so did your big brother -> pictured here! :)

are becoming more proficient at sitting up, with help from your Boppy, of course. You fall forward and end up on your back most of the time. But at least your are trying.
(*p.s. the Bumbo seat has been officially retired, your legs gets stuck because they are so sweet & chunky...no more Bumbo!)

and I just love how your hair is coming in so even, "pretty" and DARK!

This month, you visited your 3rd state, Georgia, since you've been born to visit your Uncle Jay & family.

suck on your two middle fingers sometimes, just like your daddy did when he was little!

couldn't be loved more...
