Happy 8th Months, Luke!

Without sounding like a broken record, I cannot believe that you, my sweet little baby boy,  are growing so quickly!  My heart aches and rejoices all at the same time.  I am treasuring all of your newest milestones as you discover so many new things.  It has been a huge month full of exciting "firsts'! I LOVE this age, it is such a precious time between newborn and toddler.  What an amazing gift you are to our family, we thank God everyday for your blessing and your sweet face!


In your seventh month of life,  you...

have the sweet disposition and prove to be the happiest, most content baby.  

weigh about 21 lbs and are about 29 inches long. 

are wearing 12 - 18 month clothing, and size 4 diapers.

are still exclusively nursing every 3 1/2 to 4 hours, and eating a fruit for breakfast, and a fruit and vegetable at lunch and dinner.  You just began snacking on Cheerios too! Let me say, its a good thing you are soooo cute, because you are the messiest eater!! 

take 2 naps a day, a morning nap around 9 am, and an afternoon nap around 1pm.  You are also still waking for a "snack" around 2 am, but besides that you are sleeping from 8pm to 7am at night. 

learned how to go from laying on your belly to sitting.  It was a surprise to Mommy, as I walked into your nursery one day and there you were....sitting like a big boy!

began CRAWLING this month! It didn't take you long, you just took off like a pro!  Now you love following your big brother around the house.

also pulled up for the first time to you feet, not just your knees. You love to stand and smile, I think you are very proud of yourself! :)

got your second tooth (one week after the first).  I love your little gummy grin with those two little teeth at the bottom!!  You are making good use of them too, crunching your Cheerios one at a time!

Everyone is always telling me what beautiful eyes and the LONGEST eyelashes (just like your bro).  I have to agree, you are one gorgeous (may I say that?) baby boy.

you also moved up into your BIG boy car seat!  You have loved sitting up higher and looking out the window and it is much more comfortable:) 

learned to wave at yourself!  You turn you little hand around and open and close it. 

this month, you and I (& Daddy) had three days together while Layton went to Mimi and Pops' house.  During those three days, I have never heard you talk so much!  You were constantly babbling!  It's like you knew that you had me all to yourself!  I have always heard that your first child talks more because there is no competition, but I am a believer now.  Your big brother was not here to steal any attention and it was so sweet to spend those precious days with you, all by yourself.  You began babbling "ba ba", "ma ma", "da da".  And I love when you talk while you are crawling, it's like you are telling me where you are going.

you love taking naps with your brother, every now and then.

You Mommy, Daddy and Big Brother love you more than words can express....we feel so blessed to be kissing your sweet chubby cheeks every single day!
