Out with the Old, In with the New

Renovating.

New experience for both Blake and I.  In our previous homes, they were brand new....not needing any updates. 

Our current home is about 10 years old and although it was "move in ready", perfectly situated "in town" and in the neighborhood we had been stalking for years, there were immediate eye sores that we knew had to be taken care of.....when time & funds permitted;)

The time came....so it was out with the tile, in with the hardwood.

oh, and while we were into a mess.....we decided to rip up everything and start from scratch.  The new hardwood would never match the old.  Solution:  all new hardwood.

While we were living on the planks below the floor, with dangerous nails, splinters and dust clouds......

we decided to decorate. 

We I wrote scripture underneath the kitchen floor...

"Give thanks to the Lord."

Psalm 136:1

 and the living room floor too!

"As for me and my house we will serve the Lord."
Joshua 24:15

In the midst of dust flying, Africa and stomach viruses, we have managed to get everything (almost) back together.  4. weeks. later. 

New paint color adorn the walls and it is starting to feel more like home everyday.
