Plan B. Down Under

Plans sometimes change at the very last minute.  Like today.

We had plans to join Nathaniel, Nolan and Ella at the zoo.....and someone woke up with a little stomach issue.  Nothing major, just enough to make us all step back.  So, after evaluating the situation, we decided to stay home.  Bummer.

Well, tell that to a four year old who thought he was going to the zoo.

Enter Emergency Plan B.

A "zoo-like" place close by, with neat animals and exhibits to hopefully suffice the need to see lions, tigers and bears.  What about kangaroos, snakes and sheep?

It worked:)

The boys and I went, just the three of us, and had a really great day.

We even had a little brother bonding happening:)

And then .....
Plan B came to life.  Petting a BIG kangaroo.....

and then the icing on top -- we were there just in time to feed the baby kangaroo.
It was tiny and acted just like human babies all swaddled up in a moby-like wrap.

Below is the baby sucking it's bottle  - and this is the nipple.  Let's just say it is made just like Momma.  Good thing we aren't kangaroos, if you know what I mean:))

He was a cutie.  The lady holding him actually keeps him - at home - for the winter!  Yes, just like a pet.

This was the perk of the day!

Unless you don't count the time that Layton actually got to MILK the cow - all by himself:)

or the fact that both boys got to pet a snake.  (Note: I did NOT pet the snake! nope, no way)

Plan B wasn't Plan A, but it was still a good plan for our day!
