Just the Two of Us

Blake and I were married 5 years before we started a family.

In those 5 years, we...

both worked full time & loved our jobs, joined a wonderful church, hung out with friends on a weekly basis, (I) completed back to back Master's degrees, we purchased two houses, we traveled many places (seriously, I had a checklist, and we almost completed it!), went to movies regularly, ate out constantly, and bought (almost) anything we wanted...

It was a sweet life, just the two of us.

But...it got even sweeter when our little guys arrived.

HOWEVER,

Since then, we haven't had as much time for each other.  Especially with the addition of another baby, quality time is hard to find. You know, I almost forget what it is like to be with just Blake.  Weird, because we spent EIGHT years together (counting the dating years)...you think I would be able to remember?! So, when Grammie and Grandaddy decided to babysit overnight, we were EXCITED!  It took a little planning and a big cooler full of frozen milk, but it worked and everyone, including us came back a little happier!  ;)

We attended a wedding on Saturday night. It was beautiful.  We stayed for the reception, but left early to see a movie!

At the movies, we got large popcorn, a large Sprite and some plain M&M's.

We were like two little kids!  We would eat and then look at each other and smile.

Ahhh, did I mention that we really needed a date night?

This is us being silly.  I even sit up the tripod to take these pictures.  I definitely wanted to capture the excitement! :)

On Sunday, I couldn't wait to go pick up the boys after church.
But I was so appreciative of the little time we had together, just the two of us.

Looks like you all so much fun. I need a date night too, but I can't fatham the thought of little man spending the night away from us. I think I could handle one night but we'll see. Glad you all had fun, love your orange dress.

We were married five years before our munchkins came along as well and I really have trouble remembering what it was like with just the two of us! We managed some date nights with no 1 and fewer with no 2! Maybe we will do better with number 3...

Yay for date nights!! Seems like they are few and far between anymore, but even if it is just a couple hours out I feel like I come back such a better, refreshed, more patient Mommy! Glad you all had a good time!
