Birthdays have always been a BIG deal to me.  I blame it on my parents (hi mom!) who went a little overboard with their baby girl.  It was a day that was just YOURS and it was special.  My mom still calls me at 12:26 am the minute I was born on my birthday, every year.

So, I've carried on the birthday LOVE with my boys.  I think we blow out candles and sing, "Happy Birthday!" for an entire week. You can imagine Blake's expression as I keep lighting the candle over and over.  But, hey, it's fun:)

One of the things I love most about a birthday is the reflection of a year gone by.  And I love showing how much they have grown at their birthday parties.  A slideshow is a must, with music to allow everyone to see how fast that itty bitty baby (well, ok, Luke was never itty bitty weighing in a 9lbs 12 oz!) grew to a fast moving tot.  And I also love to display pictures around the house, especially on party day to give a more personal touch:)

But Luke didn't care about any of that....his focus --->> CUPCAKE! :)

They must have been thinking the same thing too!

But you better believe that birthdays will always be BIG in our house:)



Luke celebrated with a few of his little 2 year old friends and cousins. 

while Mommy and big brother also enjoyed seeing their friends too!


Luke loved opening presents, which he has become a *pro* at since Christmas!

and then he gave lots of *thank you* hugs too!

Grandaddy had to play with the birthday boys' brother so he didn't feel left out:)

We were blessed to have so many of our family join us to help celebrate our little man!
