a first, a surprise, and an egg hunt

Layton went home with Joy and Don for a few days this week to spend some special quality time. I always enjoyed my overnight visits with my grandparents and I know Layton does too!

a first:

He learned how to pedal his tricycle all by himself! Sounds easy, but it does take some coordination in the beginning. We haven't practiced much this spring, but it didn't take long until he took off and never looked back...well, except for this picture! ha!
Way to go! :)
A surprise:

This beautiful baby grand piano was waiting for Bryson when he got home from school!
He knew it was being delivered, but he didn't know that Joy rearranged her dining room so it could be in room by itself. His very own "music room"! Bryson can play beautifully and practices (on his own) all the time! What a talent!
p.s. I took lessons for 6 years, and because I haven't practiced in a very very long time, I feel like I would have to start all over. Practice really does make perfect!

Egg Hunt:

Every year, I take Layton to an Easter Egg Hunt at Blake's mom & dad's church. He's a little intimidated at first because he doesn't know any of the other children, but he gets over it pretty quickly.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Love these curls!Grammie and Luke sat on the sidelines and watched the hunt.
Everyone wanted to see the "new" baby. She loved showing him off! :)
After a very full day, my little man was exhausted and fell asleep immediately on the way home with Mickey in hand!
