Bringing Luke home
Before we left the hospital, Pops and Layton came to visit one last time. I was ready to have both of my boys at home, but enjoyed each visit to feel connected during my hospital stay. As the days went on, Layton became more and more curious about Luke.
I love this picture, he is looking at me with such sweet eyes, like he is saying, "Is he coming home with us?"
Bringing our baby boy home was such a sweet experience. I was so happy to get home and begin settling in as a family of four.
Luke all dressed up in his "coming home outfit" to go home for the very first time. It is the same outfit that Layton wore that was given to him by his Great Grandmother, Gran.

Leaving the hospital, ready to go home to 183 Oak Ridge Way!
As Blake and I drove up in the driveway, it seemed like da ja vu from 2007, bringing home our first child. I took a deep breath, held back the tears and opened the door. We were immediately greeted by Grammie, Mimi and Layton. Layton said, "Well, come on in!" It was precious. Such a warm memory. The house smelled so good since the grandmas had been cooking all afternoon, and Layton was so excited to have his mom and dad home...with his new baby brother.
We sit down on the floor and talked about baby Luke and automatically Layton was more relaxed and wanting to get him out and hold him.
He instantly became my little helper, bringing me diapers from the nursery.
What a good big brother!

And FINALLY,
WE OPENED THE ENVELOPE!!! Guess what it said?
