Transitions

Transitions are taking place at our house.

Layton has officially been moved into a big boy bed, equipped with his very own farm! :) He is loving it and couldn't be happier about his new "place"! He was not sleeping well in his crib, and now he is snoozing in his big bed. I didn't think it was going to be this smooth, yet, I am so thankful that it was so easy.

Taking the crib apart was bittersweet.

I remember the days of choosing the perfect one, then anxiously ordering it, Blake putting it together piece by piece, and finally, placing my tiny baby in it for the very first time. As a tear shed, a smile also crept across my face as I thank God for a happy healthy little boy who is growing just as he should be. As a new milestone begins, I hope to take in this season and not dwell on what has passed. But move forward with zeal, as I watch Layton grow up just a little bit.

Every farm needs a fence...

And a horse...And a tractor and a tree with a tire swing....

And of course a barn with cute little cows...Starting to feel like home...Once the bed was set up and the sheet were put on...it all started to come together.

We even found the perfect place for his nursery letters.

He officially has his very own bathroom too. Of course, he'll share one day (hence the other towel with no name yet), but for right now, it's all his! :)

Transitions can be scary, but they can also be just what you need. I think Layton's transition came just in time...especially since someone else will be occupying his old nursery any day now.
