Transitions are taking place at our house.
Layton has officially been moved into a big boy bed, equipped with his very own farm! :) He is loving it and couldn't be happier about his new "place"! He was not sleeping well in his crib, and now he is snoozing in his big bed. I didn't think it was going to be this smooth, yet, I am so thankful that it was so easy.
Taking the crib apart was bittersweet.
I remember the days of choosing the perfect one, then anxiously ordering it, Blake putting it together piece by piece, and finally, placing my tiny baby in it for the very first time. As a tear shed, a smile also crept across my face as I thank God for a happy healthy little boy who is growing just as he should be. As a new milestone begins, I hope to take in this season and not dwell on what has passed. But move forward with zeal, as I watch Layton grow up just a little bit. Here are some pictures of transition, before and after:

And of course a barn with cute little cows...
Starting to feel like home...
Once the bed was set up and the sheet were put on...it all started to come together.
He officially has his very own bathroom too. Of course, he'll share one day (hence the other towel with no name yet), but for right now, it's all his! :)Transitions can be scary, but they can also be just what you need. I think Layton's transition came just in time...especially since someone else will be occupying his old nursery any day now.

love the farm room! It is adorable :) Thanks for the tip on the updates, I definitely would have missed it!
Love Layton's new room--the bed looks like such a "big boy!" Can't wait to see which name gets put on the other towel...
You won't believe this...actually you will. I considered the same bedding!! :) The green was the wrong shade to match other things I wanted to keep in the room (more of a lime green). The mural is awesome. Totally fitting for Layton.
Awaiting news about the new little one!!!
LOVE the farm!!! That paint job is amazing!!
His new room is adorable!!! I love the painted walls. So did you get a new crib for the baby? You mentioned taking it apart. So glad it's been a smooth transition for Layton so far! It went much better for Carter than we thought. Can't wait for your little one to arrive!!
Adorable room. I am sure the little guy loves it!!
