4 Months

On a cold wintry day, 4 Months ago, we held you for the very first time and our hearts were instantly warmed. How can it be that time has passed so quickly?

Luke,

At 4 months, your sweet personality is beginning to shine through. You are so laid back and happy-go-lucky, smiling at anyone gives you attention. You want so desperately to sit up and look around, so you are beginning to fight laying back in my arms. Where did my tiny baby go? I still can't believe that it's almost summer and you have been with us since the beginning of the year. And its funny, I can hardly remember what life was like without you.

A little bit about you at this age:

you weigh 17lbs 8oz (90th percentile), 28 inches long (98th percentile). You are definitely a happy healthy growing boy!

you are wearing size 3 diapers and size 6 - 9, and 9 month clothes. You will be wearing your big brothers hand me downs this summer, which works out perfectly!

You are still exclusively nursing and eat every 2 & 1/2 to 3 hours during the day, but only once during the night.

you have become a day time cat napper, with one really long nap in the afternoon. All is well, you will be in routine soon, in your own time. But you definitely sleep good at night, and that is all I can ask for.


you have become a certified "drooler"!! And you love to suck on your hands/fingers constantly.

you "talk" all the time, I can almost hear you say, "I good"....your babble is music to our ears.

you have found our feet in the past few days!! Oh, how I love watching you play with your cute little toes!!

you have learned to take your pacifier out of your mouth, which makes for long car rides sometimes when Mommy can't reach and put it back in!

you are spoiled! It's official. You love being held and don't want to be put down. You would rather walk around with someone and see what's going on.

you still have our little "swirl", and Mommy loves kissing it!!

you have the strength to hold your head up now, tummy time is fun...no more screams about being on your belly.


you giggle when tickled, we love to hear you laugh!

you rolled over this month, but don't do it consistently.

you enjoy laying on your back, playing and grabbing the toys on your play gym.

you love your big brother, who gives you hugs and kisses and likes holds you for about 2.2 seconds!

you love to be rocked to sleep (which Mommy loves too!) and then placed on your tummy for naps during the day.


you were dedicated to the Lord on May 9, 2010. Mommy and Daddy thought it was a very special day.

and finally,

you couldn't be loved more!
